Autopilot Device Preparation support for Windows 365 Government

Autopilot Device Preparation is now generally available for Windows 365 Enterprise and Windows 365 Flex in dedicated mode in Government environments. IT administrators can use device preparation policies to help ensure required Intune apps and scripts are applied to Cloud PCs during provisioning before they're made available to users. Developer Configuration image adds Intelligent Terminal and Coreutils (Public Preview)

The Windows 11 Enterprise Developer Configuration gallery image now includes Intelligent Terminal and Coreutils, providing developers with additional built-in tools as part of the preconfigured development environment available in Windows 365. macOS preview support for in-session passwordless authentication

In-session passwordless authentication is in preview for the Windows App on macOS. This allows users to complete in-session WebAuthn challenges using passkeys that are stored on the macOS device or that are connected to the macOS device (such as a physical security key or through QR code).

Modern Auto-Reconnect begins rollout

Windows 365 has started the rollout of Modern Auto-Reconnect, a new connection recovery experience designed to improve resiliency during temporary network interruptions.

Modern Auto-Reconnect helps users stay productive by preserving their Cloud PC connection experience and restoring connectivity more quickly when network connectivity returns. Instead of relying on repeated reconnect attempts, the feature leverages RDP Multipath to maintain connection continuity and reduce disruptions caused by brief network outages, changes in network conditions, or transitions between networks.

Users can benefit from:

• Faster recovery after temporary network interruptions

• Reduced user-visible disruptions during connectivity changes

• Preservation of open applications and in-progress work

• A more seamless experience when switching between networks or recovering from brief connectivity drops

This feature is being introduced through a quality-driven, phased rollout, helping ensure a smooth and reliable experience as availability expands across Windows 365. Until rollout is complete, the feature might not be available on all eligible Cloud PCs.
