Action required: Update to the latest iOS apps using updated Intune MAM SDK or Wrapper to avoid user impact

As communicated in MC1287361, we have made updates to the Intune mobile application management (MAM) service that require iOS apps to be on the latest supported Intune MAM SDK or App Wrapping Tool versions to ensure apps continue to work.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Our telemetry indicates you have users that are not using the latest app versions or have an iOS line-of-business (LOB) app that requires a newer version of the Intune SDK or Wrapper.

User impact: If your users have not updated to the latest Microsoft or third-party app protection supported apps and may be blocked from launching their apps. If you have iOS line-of-business (LOB) applications that are using the Intune wrapper or SDK, you must be on 20.8.0 or later for apps compiled with Xcode 16 and version 21.1.0 or later for apps compiled with Xcode 26 to avoid your users from being blocked.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

We recommend taking the following actions as soon as possible:

• Notify your users that they need to upgrade to the latest version of the Microsoft and third-party apps as soon as possible. The latest versions are available in Apple's App store. For example, you can find the latest version of Microsoft Teams here and Microsoft Outlook here.
• Use Conditional Launch settings to block unsupported app or SDK versions that are still in use:
• The Min SDK version setting to block users if the app is using Intune SDK for iOS older than 20.8.0.
• The Min app version setting to warn or block users on older Microsoft apps. Note, this setting must be in a policy targeted to only the targeted app.
• If you have iOS LOB apps that are using the Intune wrapper or Intune SDK, you must be on Wrapper or SDK version 20.8.0 or later for apps compiled with Xcode 16 and version 21.1.0 or later for apps compiled with Xcode 26 to avoid your users being blocked. Admins can view the Intune SDK version used by each app in the App Protection Status report (Apps > Monitor > App protection status).
