Microsoft Insights (Copilot Analytics): Export agent data from the Agent 365 Dashboard
Microsoft announcement
[What and Why:]
We are introducing the ability to export Agent 365 metrics from the Agent Dashboard in Microsoft Viva Insights. Eligible leaders, delegates, analysts, and admins can export row-level Agent 365 metrics, agent metadata, and people metadata to support deeper analysis of Agent 365 adoption and usage across their organization.
This enhancement enables organizations to build custom reports, identify frequently used and underutilized agents, track returning usage and sessions, and, where permitted, connect agent activity with business or organizational data.
[Rollout Schedule:]
- General Availability (Worldwide): Begins late July 2026 and is expected to complete by late July 2026.
[Impact on Your Organization:]
Who is affected:
- Eligible Viva Insights leaders, delegates, analysts, and administrators.
- Organizations using Agent Dashboard reporting for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agent 365 experiences.
Platforms and Services:
- Microsoft Viva Insights
- Agent Dashboard
What will happen:
- Eligible users will be able to export row-level Agent 365 data directly from the Agent Dashboard.
- Users can export either:
- Day-level data covering the previous 28 days.
- Week-level data covering the previous six months, subject to Agent 365 data availability.
- The exported dataset reflects the current dashboard view and the selected "All agents" toggle state.
- Coverage spans agents built by employees or published by your organization, Microsoft, or third parties.
- The export is delivered as a ZIP package containing multiple CSV files, including person-agent interaction metrics, person metadata, and agent metadata.
- When identifiable export is enabled, exports include Microsoft Entra ID and User Principal Name.
- Users and agents excluded through reporting exclusion policies will continue to appear excluded in exported datasets.
Admin Controls
- The existing AgentMetricsExport control continues to govern Agent 365 export functionality.
- Global admins and AI admins can enable or disable export functionality at the tenant, group, or user level.
- Changes may take up to 24 hours to be reflected in the web application.
- Identifiable exports are controlled through the IdentifiableExport Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) policy and are turned off by default.
- Administrators can grant export permissions and manage identifiability settings through Microsoft Viva Feature Access Management in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
[Action Required / Recommendations:]
No action is required. The export capability will be enabled by default for eligible tenants and users.
Organizations that want to manage access to export capabilities or enable identifiable exports should review their Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) settings and existing AgentMetricsExport policies.
[Compliance Considerations:]
- Personal data export: When identifiable export is enabled, exported datasets may include Microsoft Entra user identifier fields.
- Administrative controls: Export access is governed through AgentMetricsExport controls and Viva Feature Access Management policies, which can be scoped at the tenant, group, or user level.
- Reporting and monitoring: This update provides a new method for administrators and authorized users to access and analyze reporting data outside the Viva Insights experience.
- Policy enforcement: Exports honor existing reporting exclusion policies for users and agents.
