Microsoft announcement

[What and why]

You are receiving this message because your organization has one or more Power Platform dataflows in a Dataverse for Teams environment.

Microsoft is retiring the Preview Power Platform Dataflows experience for Dataverse for Teams environments.

This retirement applies only to Power Platform Dataflows in Dataverse for Teams. It does not affect Power BI dataflows, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 applications, or Power Apps experiences outside of Dataverse for Teams.

To continue using dataflow capabilities in affected Dataverse for Teams environments, migrate affected dataflows to one of the following supported alternatives:

  • Standard V2 dataflows after upgrading the Teams environment to full Dataverse
  • Dataflow Gen2 in Microsoft Fabric

Creating new Power Platform dataflows in Dataverse for Teams environments will be disabled beginning September 1, 2026. Existing dataflows will not be automatically migrated.

[Rollout schedule]

The retirement will occur in the following phases:

  • September 1, 2026: Creation of new dataflows will be disabled.
  • October 1, 2026: Dataflow refresh functionality will be disabled.
  • October 31, 2026: Teams and related Power Apps Maker entry points for this experience will be removed or disabled.

[Action required and recommendations]

Required by October 1, 2026

Identify affected dataflows in your Dataverse for Teams environments and select a migration path:

  • Upgrade the Teams environment to full Dataverse and move to Standard V2 dataflows.
  • Recreate or migrate the dataflows as Dataflow Gen2 items in Microsoft Fabric.

After migration:

  • Validate data source connections.
  • Verify refresh schedules and refresh behavior.
  • Test downstream reports, applications, and business processes that depend on the migrated dataflows.
  • Retire the legacy dataflows after validation is complete.

We recommend communicating this change to administrators and makers who manage Power Platform dataflows in your organization.
