Looking ahead: Microsoft Scout desktop app

[What and why]

Microsoft Scout is now Autopilot (see our blog for more details). Autopilot is an always-on, cloud-based personal agent with its own identity, permissions, and access to M365 apps & tools. Your Autopilot reports to you, taking work off your plate and moving it forward, with enterprise-grade security from day one.

Autopilot will expand in private preview on 9/30, with broad availability by end of year. As of 9/30, the Scout desktop app will move into maintenance mode. Current Scout customers can continue using the Scout desktop app, while also experimenting with Autopilot as it becomes available.

As we get closer to broader Autopilot availability, we will provide additional information around the Scout desktop app timeline. We are working to bring local and browser capabilities to Autopilot, and anticipate an overlap period in Frontier Public to enable a transition between the two products.
