Copilot Studio - Information regarding Act updates and the end of support for selected AI models

We are updating Copilot Studio’s AI model lineup to align with the EU AI Act transparency requirements. As part of this update, on November 30, 2026, GPT-4.1 and GPT-5 Chat will reach end of support.

All other supported models will remain available and will include the required AI-generated content markings by December 2, 2026.

How does this affect me?
Affected agents will automatically move to the replacement model shown below unless another supported model is selected.

What action do I need to take?
Please complete the steps listed below for your agents GPT-4.1 or GPT-5 Chat before November 30, 2026:

1. Identify affected agents: In the Power Platform admin center, go to Manage > Copilot Studio to find agents using GPT-4.1 or GPT-5 Chat.
2. Select and test a new model: Choose the recommended replacement or another supported model, confirm its data processing locations meet your data residency requirements, and test your key workflows and integrations. Agents that have not been updated will transition automatically on November 30.
3. Prepare your users: Let your users know about the AI-generated content markings, including visible labels and spoken disclosures, and review your organization's transparency obligations under the EU AI Act.

Before transitioning, please review the replacement model’s regional availability and data-processing requirements. For guidance on the relevant admin settings, please see Move data across regions for Copilots, AI agents, and generative AI features.

Please use this form if moving your agents off GPT-4.1 or GPT-5 Chat in the EU, EFTA, or UK by December 2, 2026, creates a business-critical blocker for your organization.
