Microsoft announcement

Developer Configuration with pre-installed Microsoft 365 Apps is generally available

This image provides a consistent, ready-to-use developer environment by preinstalling essential development tools and applying the required configurations across Windows 365 CPC. This image is available for Windows 365 Enterprise and Windows 365 Flex Dedicated mode. See more: Device images in Windows 365.

Alternate regions for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery are now generally available

Alternate regions are generally available for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) scenarios. These regions help organizations meet unique disaster recovery and data sovereignty requirements. Administrators can select alternate regions for Cross-region Disaster Recovery (CRDR) and Disaster Recovery Plus (DR+) configurations, including Australia Southeast, South India, Canada East, and West US. Alternate regions are available for disaster recovery scenarios only and aren't supported for Cloud PC provisioning.

For more information about alternate regions, see Requirements for Windows 365

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in Cloud PC Settings is now generally available

The setup process for Point-in-Time Restore, Cross-region Disaster Recovery, and Disaster Recovery Plus is now generally available within Cloud PC Settings. This aligns with the centralized approach that Cloud PC Settings offers. These features can now be enabled together within a singular Cloud PC Configuration.

For more information, see Enable Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Session State Retention for Windows 365 Flex dedicated Cloud PCs is now generally available

Session State Retention is now generally available for eligible Windows 365 Flex dedicated Cloud PCs. Session State Retention complements Intelligent pre-start to improve the reconnect experience for Windows 365 Flex dedicated users. Intelligent pre-start helps ensure the Cloud PC is powered on and ready when the user needs it, while Session State Retention preserves the user’s active session while the Cloud PC is idle. After a user has been disconnected for a set idle period (default: 2 hours), an eligible Cloud PC preserves the session state instead of powering off. On the next connection, users return to their open apps and work exactly where they left off.

Both capabilities are quality-of-life improvements delivered as part of the Windows 365 service. Together, they enhance the end-user experience by moving reconnect toward a model in which device readiness and session continuity are invisible to users and happen behind the scenes, without requiring users to change how they work or manage either capability.

For more information, see State retention for Windows 365 Flex dedicated Cloud PCs.
