Microsoft announcement

[What and why]

Microsoft Viva Copilot Analytics is expanding reporting coverage to include agents created on supported third-party platforms. Business leaders, adoption specialists, and administrators will gain additional observability insights for agents synchronized from Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Anthropic Claude through the Connected platforms capability in Agent365, providing a more complete view of agent adoption and usage across their AI ecosystem.

Because supported third-party platforms do not provide Microsoft Entra user identities, user-based metrics such as Active users and Returning users will not be available for these agents.

[Rollout schedule]

  • Frontier (Worldwide): Beginning in mid-October 2026 and expected to complete rollout in late October 2026

[Impact on your organization]

  • Organizations synchronizing agents from supported third-party AI platforms through Connected platforms

  • Anthropic Claude

What will happen

  • Reporting and observability insights for eligible third-party agents will be available in the Agent365 dashboard.
  • User-level metrics, including Active users and Returning users, will not be available for third-party agents because supported third-party platforms do not provide Microsoft Entra user identities.
  • No new dashboard-specific permissions or access controls are introduced with this release.
  • Reporting is available when administrators enable collection of observability data for supported third-party connections.

[Action required and recommendations]

Review the following items before rollout:

  • Confirm that administrators have enabled collection of agent observability data when creating or editing connections to supported third-party platforms.
  • Review who has access to the Agent365 dashboard through existing Viva Insights VFAM controls at the user, group, and tenant levels. No additional dashboard access controls are introduced with this change.
  • Review internal governance and compliance requirements, including engagement with works councils or employee representatives where applicable.
  • Update internal training and adoption materials to reflect the reporting capabilities available through Agent365.
