We have maintenance planned for Power BI:

Ending Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10:00 PM UTC.

[How this affects your organization:]

As part of this planned maintenance, the Power BI service will be unavailable for your tenant for some time. Attempts to access the Power BI service may fail to complete, and background operations may be unsuccessful. After the maintenance window, we expect the service to operate normally and expect both interactive and background operations to succeed.

This maintenance is planned outside of normal business hours, to help minimize any impact to your organization.

For organizations with users around the globe, we recognize that "outside of normal business hours" might affect you differently. We apologize for the impact this may have on your users. We are working hard to improve Power BI, and to minimize these maintenance windows.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

No action is required by you before or during the maintenance window. After maintenance is completed:

• Users should refresh any open browser windows.
• Power BI Mobile app users will need to verify they are using the most recent app and sign out and sign back into the app.
• For Excel workbooks that use the Analyze in Excel feature if they fail to refresh you may need to update the connection string or re-download the ODC connection for that dataset.
• Links to Power BI that are embedded in content might fail to connect when maintenance is complete. For example, an embedded link in SharePoint or Teams may result in a user error. To resolve this problem, you have to re-generate the embedded link in Power BI and then update the locations where they're used.
• Some of the usage data collected prior to the maintenance will not be available after the maintenance: Power BI Activity Log. Users should download the activity logs before the maintenance. Alternatively, users may use the Office 365 audit log data to obtain equivalent activity details.
