[What and Why:]
Introducing the Enhanced Microsoft 365 Copilot Experience in Viva Engage! Powered by Engage MCP, this enhanced experience takes Copilot in Engage beyond catch-ups and summaries, helping users explore conversations more deeply, synthesize discussions, and uncover meaningful insights.
It's also more deeply connected across Microsoft 365. For example, you can ask Copilot to analyze feedback on a leader's post, identify key themes, and turn those insights into a reusable PowerPoint deck.
With Work IQ integration, Copilot also has a better understanding of you and your work context, connecting conversations in Engage to your broader work across Microsoft 365. Engage MCP expands both the breadth and depth of Engage scenarios Copilot can support, making it more useful for understanding conversations and insights across your Engage network.
This update also brings Copilot in Engage closer to the broader Microsoft 365 Copilot experience, with your Microsoft 365 agents now accessible directly within Copilot in Engage.
[Rollout Schedule:]
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in mid November 2026 and expect to complete by mid December 2026.
[Impact on Your Organization:]
Who is affected:
- Users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license who use Copilot in Viva Engage.
Platforms/Services:
- Viva Engage
- Microsoft 365 Copilot
What will happen:
- More Engage scenarios in Copilot: Engage MCP gives Copilot in Engage access to a wider and deeper set of Engage scenarios, right in the Copilot experience.
- Microsoft 365 agents in Engage: Users can use their Microsoft 365 agents directly in Copilot in Engage, so they don't have to switch apps.
- Licensing has not changed from the Copilot in Engage experience shipped last year. The enhanced experience builds on Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, and users who already have Copilot in Engage will get the new capabilities automatically.
- This change is on by default.
[Action Required/Recommendations:]
You don't need to do anything to get ready for this change. We recommend you:
